Three Sea Scout Ships, Ship 2, Ship 3 and ship 584 attended the annual Earth Day cleanup of Pine Island. Scheduled for When: 10 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, May 3.
We rowed 5 boats over as a group to Pine Island (about a half mile out) and helped spruce up the island. Our Ship' crew supported the local John Gardner Chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association.
They are interested in working with our crew members.
They have a Community Boathouse at Avery Point. They wanted to provide again this year an opportunity for us to visit their boathouse to learn about boat building techniques, go for a row, and have a cookout.
We gathered at 10 am or when you can arrive at the Where: Bayberry Lane boat launch ramp at Jupiter Point.
We enjoyed a good weathered day with friends and performed a community service.
